Movement hires industry veteran Dawn Ryan as Rhode Island loan officer - Movement Mortgage Blog

NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND — Movement Mortgage, a national top 10 retail mortgage lender, is pleased to announce that New England native Dawn Ryan joins the Movement team as a Loan Officer in Newport, Rhode Island.

Ryan (NMLS #828476) has been in the home financing and real estate industry for more than 20 years with experience that includes abstract research, title insurance issuance, paralegal work, management/training, process development, and sales. Before joining Movement, she spent a decade as a Loan Officer at Embrace Home Loans. Prior to that, Ryan was a Realtor at Keller Williams Realty. Her previous roles included operation and sales positions at C&D Title and Linear Title and Closing in Newport.

“Moving to home financing was a no-brainer,” said Ryan of where her career path has led her. “From title insurance to paralegal to real estate, transitioning to sales just seemed like a natural fit with my experience. Besides, my father always told me that if you take care of your customers, you will never have to ‘sell’ a day in your life.”

Ryan will work closely with Nathan Nary, Movement’s Sales Manager in Providence, RI (NMLS #158664), and Tess Leighton, Market Leader for the Region (NMLS #6595)

“We are so honored to have Dawn join our team,” said Leighton. “She’s an industry veteran, and we look forward to watching her take her business to the next level with industry-leading support that will allow her to focus on serving her clients, community, and business relationships.”

“Dawn is a great asset to the community,” added Nary. “Always looking to give back.”

Raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, Ryan attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell, earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies, and Lesley University, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She resides in Middletown, RI, with Jay, her husband of 20 years, and two teenaged children. When not helping families get into new homes, she enjoys walking, dancing, reading, and fostering dogs – who are also looking for new homes.
